The Manager in Training will be assigned to a branch or multiple branches and will learn all aspects of branch operations and business planning. Upon completion of the on-the-job and formal training, the Manager in Training candidate will be expected to relocate (with assistance) to an available branch management position within the assigned district or region. In this role, the MIT will gain exposure to all day-to-day activities of the branch that are designed to maximize branch performance and profitability. The key to success in this position is a broad-based exposure and mastery of all facets of sales and operations.

Responsibilities will include: 

* Demonstrating superior customer service skills; implementing effective retail displays and branch marketing efforts
* Assisting the Branch Manager in the preparation of monthly profit and loss statements and yearly budgets
* Learning to utilize internal reporting tools to optimize branch financial performance
* Supervising facility inspection, inventory and fleet maintenance for rental ready status
* Coordinating activities between branch departments to optimize productivity
* Manage personnel matters as directed by Branch Manager
* Ensure workplace safety; by supporting the Branch Manager in overseeing safety matters and compliance audits including: personnel safety training, OSHA compliance, DOT regulation and manage drug and alcohol testing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • P/L management experience
  • Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and fumes
  • 3-5 years of operations and sales experience, with fleet management, car rental, retail or related industry experience preferred
  • Minimum of one year previous supervisory experience
  • Superior customer service skills in a fast-paced, high transaction business culture
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong ability to multi-task
