What availability do you look for?
Scheduling varies by role and region. Field roles often require early mornings, evenings, weekends and holiday availability, depending on customer needs. Flexibility is important since we support large-scale transportation across the nation.
How old do I need to be to work at United Rentals?
You must be at least 18 years old to work in our field roles.
Do you have an Employee Referral Program?
Yes, we do offer an employee referral program for eligible team members and roles.
Do I need a high school diploma or GED to apply?
Yes, all roles require a high school diploma or equivalent alternative (i.e. GED) in order to apply.
Do I need to pass a drug test?
Yes, a drug test is required for all U.S. based roles.
What physical requirements should I expect?
For our Service & Maintenance and Transportation roles, physical requirements include the ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
Do you hire part-time or seasonal employees?
Yes, we have part-time and seasonal roles available on an as-needed basis. We also hire seasonal interns in the Service & Sales departments.
Do you offer weekend-only or overnight shifts?
No, all our shifts include weekday work and various schedules.
Do you hire without a driver’s license?
Most positions do require a valid driver’s license, with a few exceptions. Talk to your recruiter to learn more.
