Transition to top opportunities

At United Rentals, we offer a seamless and supportive transition for recent graduates from academics to their professional careers. As a Fortune 500 company, we’re able to offer strong earning potential shortly after graduation. New Grads tend to start in either a Sales Associate role in one of our 1,000+ branches or at one of our Sales Development Program Centers in Charlotte or Phoenix. Starting in these positions will lead to opportunities as an Outside Sales Representative. We teach and mentor on the best ways to sell and provide solutions for customers, as well as about our product advantages and differentiating features.

Caroline, Intern, John Molson School of Business

I did not expect to learn about so many different aspects of the company. This internship always stayed exciting, as I was constantly learning new and different things about United Rentals.

Hanna, Intern, University of New Orleans

The internship program exceeded my expectations in many ways. I didn't expect to travel so much to other branches and local jobsites, but that was my favorite part of the program, as well as ride-alongs with the truck drivers.

Alma, Intern, University of Texas at El Paso

I thought that the company went above and beyond to improve my experience as an intern.

Kenneth, Intern, Auburn University

I gained a lot of knowledge within sales that I can take with me wherever I go. I also learned a lot about United Rentals and feel comfortable having this as a job option after college.

Nichole, Intern, University of Alabama

This was more than just a summer job because everyone that I met helped me develop as a professional and a person. Learning across operations, sales and management, I was able to appreciate and understand each aspect of the company.

Briana, Outside Sales Rep, University of Minnesota

My favorite part about the internship is that each day was different and exciting. I assisted inside and outside sales reps and worked closely with my branch manager on leads and quotes for potential big jobs. I learned so much and have become passionate about the industry.
